Aviano child development programThe Aviano child development program helps families balance the demands of work and family. Two centers, open daily, are staffed with well-trained professionals who consistently provide quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. Child Development Center 1Bldg 170 (Area
1) capacity 142 - 632-8246 0630-1800 M-F DSN 632-8246 CDC 1 provides full-time, before/after school care for kindergarten aged children, part day, hourly, and respite care for children ages 6 wks through 5 years. This program is nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is Air Force certified. The center extends hours as directed in support of deployments, exercises, real world events and may open for special base events by reservation only. The program partners with the Air Force Aid Society and supports programs for parents qualifying for the PCS Parents Program (20 hours per child/acquire certificate at FSC), Volunteer Program and Give Parents a Break. All programs are at no cost to the parents..
Child Development Center 2 Bldg 1476, Flightline, Capacity 150 0630-1800 M-F, DSN 632-5199 CDC 2, Flight Line Center, opened in October 2005, as part of the Aviano 2000 project. It was NATO funded and is a state-of the-art facility providing full-time, part day, hourly, respite care for children ages 6 wks through 5 years, and part-day enrichment classes for children ages 3-6. This program is nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and is Air Force certified. The center extends hours as directed in support of deployments, exercises, real world events and may open for special base events by reservation only. Area 1 Bldg 116 Empowering our youth by investing in the future, the Aviano 2000 Program made a commitment to excellence in youth services by opening a new 31,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility in October 2005. The new center consolidates the youth programs under one roof with a separate Teen Center that includes a large game room, TV/game lounge, and computer lab plus a School Age Program wing, a kitchen, indoor gym, changing and shower area, interior multi-group classrooms, and age appropriate exterior playgrounds with lighted sand volleyball and basketball courts. The new center is in a very close proximity to the new DoDDs school and better serves our youths by making access to after school programs a mere walk across the parking lot. Programs now available for youth ages 6-18 include a variety of camps
including computer camp, science camp, sports camps, children’s
theatre, various talent competitions, instructional classes including
ballet, jazz, tap, creative movement, karate, cheerleading, gymnastic,
fashion and talent shows, numerous field trips to fun and historical
sites, and the YES (Youth Employment Skills) program. Through affiliation
with Boys and Girls Clubs of American, the youth center also offers
several scholarship opportunities to include Youth of the Year, and
sponsors National Kids Day., Smart Girls, Teen Right Start, photography
contests and fine arts exhibits and contests. Ask our staff about the
