What to wear
Please note weather conditions and dress accordingly.
Comfortable shoes are advisable since almost all tours involve walking.
What to bring
Passports: If traveling outside
Italy, you must have a tourist passport to leave and enter each country.
Military members and dependents may use their ID card and Form 80 (at
your own risk) in some countries. ITT does not recommend the use of Form
80 and no fee passports. If you have a passport other than U.S. passport
or visa, it is your responsibility to make sure it will be accepted and
that you can leave and enter Italy.
Currency: It is advisable that you
obtain whatever currency you will need before the tour’s departure date.
Bring Euro, Swiss Francs for Switzerland and Tolars for Slovenia. Most
European Union currencies may be obtained from the base banks or local
banks.
Water & Snacks: For shopping trips (Nove,
Union and Gold) you will need to pack a lunch. Eating , drinking and
smoking on Italian buses are prohibited by law. Alcohol is prohibited on
ITT tours.
Camera & Film: Don’t miss the many
photo opportunities on your ITT tour. Bring extra film, it can be quite
expensive on the economy.
Small pillow: To sleep on the bus.
Small luggage: Will be stored inside
of bus and bag must be small enough to fit under your seat or in the
limited storage space above heads. For overnight trips, one piece of
luggage is permitted.
Tour Departure
All tours/trips will depart from Community Center bus stop in Area One.
The departure time specified on your receipt is the actual departure
time. You should arrive 15 to 20 minutes early, the bus will not wait.
For most tours, the Community Center will be open 30 minutes to one hour
prior to departure for restroom use.
Tour Escort/Guide
1. The ITT escort will ensure that the group arrives and departs from
the destination as scheduled and will do everything possible to make
your trip safe and comfortable. The escort provides general information,
and, most importantly, informs the group when and where to meet the bus
and when it is time to depart.
2. Many of the tours will meet a local, English-speaking, professional
tour guide, who is knowledgeable of the area and its history.
3. The tour escort is prohibited by law to be a tour guide.
The Bus
We travel through various narrow streets in towns and villages, so the
buses are a bit more compact than the buses with which we are
accustomed. We will do everything possible to ensure your comfort on the
tour. Eating, drinking and smoking on the bus are against Italian law.
However, on certain trips you will be allowed to eat and drink on the
bus. We ask that you please clean up after yourself. The tour bus will
make periodic stops for your convenience. On some trips there will be a
restroom aboard for emergency cases only. Please note that when we stop
for restroom breaks you will not be allowed to use the restroom on board
the bus.
When stopping for lunch/dinner breaks or any time the bus will be
locked, you are required to get off the bus. Arrival and departure times
are approximate and based on normal road conditions. When using a 25, 52
and 55 passenger bus, the first two seats reserved in both rows are for
the drivers, escort/assistant escort use only. When using the
double-decker bus, some of the bottom seats will be reserved for staff
unless the tour has assigned seating. Note: a $100 fee will be
charged to an individual if he/she gets sick on the bus because of
overindulgence of alcohol. That person will be held responsible for the
clean-up.
