The Aviano Arts and Crafts Center provides
off-duty leisure time activities for active duty
military personnel, dependents, DOD
personnel, retirees, their dependents and
guests. It provides complete arts and crafts
development and service facilities, to include
automotive, industrial arts, fine arts and
hobby crafts. Our program supports family
cohesion, builds self-esteem and self-reliance,
and provides alternative leisure time activities,
which develops the individual’s creative skills.
Always focused on safety, customer service,
customer value, customer self expression and
personal development, we are very proud to
have received the USAFE Program of the
Year award for both 2007 & 2008, and
winning best in the Air Force for 2008!

Prepare now to enter your artwork, crafts and photography in this annual event. All submissions
selected at the base level are forwarded on to the respective MAJCOMs, who choose entries to be
forwarded to HQ AFSVA. Individuals whose entries are selected for the showcase receive recognition
from HQ AFSVA, which includes a commemorative medallion and DVD ofthe Gallery Showcase. This
event is open to active duty military and their family members, DoD civilians, contractors, reservists and
retirees. There are two categories (Artist-Craftsman and Photography) and three age groups (Youth,
6-12; Youth, 13-17 and 18+ for Adults).
If you are an artist, artisan or crafts person (either novice or professional) and would like to take part in
our annual craft fair, all items and artwork must be handmade by registrant. Samples will be screened
at registration. The 2011 Craft fair has already passed.
| Some Classes Offered Watercolor Painting - Covers basic techniques, course work to include two finished major art pieces! 4 session class costs $100 plus supplies. Framing/Matting - Learn to custom frame and mat your own pictures! Once you have completed the class you can sign up anytime to custom frame your own projects! Cost is $30 per student and includes supplies to frame a 4x6 picture. Classes fill up fast! Acrylic Painting - Covers basic/advanced techniques. Class includes the completion of two projects. 4 session class costs $100 plus supplies. Portraiture Photography - Class includes wardrobe, props, setting and we will be using live models. 1 session class cost is $35 ($100 for 4 photo classes) Glamor Shots - Class includes wardrobe, props, setting and we will be using live models. 1 session class cost is $35 ($100 for 4 photo classes) Still Life Photography - Class includes the use of props, designing, composition and setting lighting. 1 session class cost is $35 ($100 for 4 photo classes) |
